CONCHIGLIARIO

In the shape of a shell elusiveness and voluptuosness coexist with exactness and finess. Such innate contradiction makes of it an especially fertile object for imagination. Thus, Conchigliario takes on a journey through a shell and explores the possible reveries evoked by a shell and questions their ability to express different facets of its nature.

The variety offered by this body of works considers from time to time the shell’s morphology, origin, formation, or potential function. Each piece reflects on a specific trasfigurative process typical of imagination, led through different technical experimentations - that move from painting, to etching, to the digital image - and various scales - few centimetres to over a metre.
